An Exciting New Program This Summer!
There’s something that happens when you get out on the lake. Away from the dock, the notifications, and the running list in your head.
The water asks you to be there. And for a lot of high‑achieving people, myself included, that simple ask can be one of the hardest thing they’ve done all year.
That tension is why I do this work.
Why The Lake
I’m Ash Hannig, and I recently joined Move Mountains as Director of Adventure. I grew up competing in wakeboarding, which initiated my curiosity around mindset and how people navigate pressure, especially when performing on the water.
Since then, I’ve followed that thread, through the corporate ladder at Microsoft, a master’s education in sustainable leadership, building a women’s action sports community, and now working at the intersection of leadership and the outdoors.
I live in Incline Village, which means Lake Tahoe is my classroom most days.
What drew me to Move Mountains is simple: this team understands what real leadership and growth requires. Not the version that just looks good on a checklist or resume, the kind that asks you to be present and vulnerable in where you are now and all-in on where you want to be. That’s been my philosophy long before I had the language for it.
Mindset Coaching on Lake Tahoe
So what have we launched this summer?
A women’s mindset coaching and wakesurf experience on Lake Tahoe. This is a signature Move Mountains series designed for women who are high‑functioning, high‑achieving, and quietly running on empty.
This doesn’t always look like collapse. More often, it looks like being very good at your life while feeling strangely disconnected from it, like you need a little reset to feel more you.
If that resonates, this experience was designed for you.

What the experience looks like
We’re keeping things intentionally small: max 4 women per session. Weekday or weekends, mornings or evenings, starting from Incline Village. You pick your dates that align best with your schedule, June through August.
Each three‑hour session is structured but spacious:
- We open on the boat with breathwork and intention‑setting.
- We move onto the water for individual time wakesurfing .
- We close with guided reflection grounded in Move Mountains’ Be–See–Send framework.
Be — arrive in your body.
See — identify what you’ve been carrying.
Send — commit to one shift and carry it forward into your life.
Simple is what works when everything else feels complicated.
And this isn’t just a moment‑in‑time experience. Each participant also receives private 1:1 mindset coaching before and after their on-water session, so the work integrates beyond the boat and into how you lead, live, and show up daily.
Why the lake is such a powerful teacher
The best growth experiences share something with being outdoors: you can’t think your way into them. You have to show up, remain present, and let the environment do some of the work for you.
The water doesn’t care how many plates you’re spinning. It cares if you’re present, breathing, and willing to try again. That’s the same muscle you need for leading a team, having an honest conversation, or choosing a more sustainable pace.
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to do something that is genuinely for you, this is it.
