What to Expect

  • Breathtaking adventure leadership experience led by executive coach Charlie White and adventure legend Dave Nettle.
  • Backpack. Learn backcountry thriving (shelters, cooking, food, water and navigation).
  • Gain insight and motivation from the collective wisdom of the team.
  • Rise through challenges. Increase your failure threshold and discover you are capable of so much more.
  • Practice regular accurate reflection generating self and situational awareness. Learn the tools to reflect on lessons learned from failure, broken moments, relationships, imperfection, family, vulnerability.

 

DAY ONE

  • Team meet up at Alpenglow Expeditions Office at Palisades at 0700.
  • Set the foundation, Gear up and prep for departure.
  • Depart from base and head to camp.
  • Learn navigation, route management, and mountain travel skills.
  • Set up camp, find water, dive into camp life.
  • Mini Learning segments integrating mountain life with leadership.
  • Wrap up the evening at camp with a delicious dinner

DAY TWO

  • Wake and enjoy a ridgeline sunrise.
  • Hardy breakfast followed by striking camp and packing up.
  • Backpack to camp two or head off on summit challenge.
  • Stops along the way include learning opportunities around communication, problem-solving, and navigation.
  • Lunch with a view.
  • Set up camp and prep for day three's leadership challenge.
  • Enjoy fantastic views, stars and more during this amazing night.

DAY THREE

  • Break camp in the morning after a delicious breakfast and beautiful sunrise.
  • Set off on a leadership challenge in small groups.
  • Summit Gold Peak.
  • Lunch with a view.
  • Debrief along the river.
  • Gather for dinner and closing ceremony.
  • Optional nights stay

Dave’s underlying philosophy of living life fully and approaching the world of adventure travel and alpinism with “confident uncertainty” has led him to the mountain ranges of the world where his climbing accomplishments are just a part of what he values.  At the heart and soul of it all is the experience of interacting with, and learning from, the people, places and cultures along the way and sharing the challenge and beauty of wilderness with friends.
